Absorbable hygiene products’ import and export situation in the first three quarters of 2023

    2023-11-03

Absorbable hygiene products’ import and export situation in the first three quarters of 2023   According to Customs Statistics, in the first three quarters of 2023, the import and export of absorbable hygiene products in China continued the trend in the first half of the year, with a year-on-year decrease in imports and sustained growth in export business.   Import In the first three quarters of 2023, the import volume of absorbable hygiene products was only 32000 tons, a significant decrease of 40.19% year-on-year. Among them, baby diapers are still the main product, with an import volume accounting for 63.7%. Due to the continuous decrease in China's infant birth rate in recent years and the improvement in the quality of Chinese baby diaper products, they have gained recognition from the local market consumer group, further reducing the demand for imported products. Among absorbable hygiene products, "diapers made of any other material" is the only category with a year-on-year increase in import volume, but the quantity is very small, and the import price has dropped by 46.94% year-on-year, indicating that the main products are still mid to low-end products.   Export In the first three quarters of 2023, the total export volume of absorbable hygiene products reached 951500 tons, much higher than the import volume, with a year-on-year increase of 12.60%. The export amount reached 2.897 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10.70%, indicating the efforts of Chinese enterprises in the absorbable hygiene products industry to explore the international market. Baby diapers account for the largest proportion of the export of absorbable hygiene products, accounting for 40.7% of the total export volume.
