Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd. exits the diaper resin business

    2024-04-08

Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd. exits the diaper resin business   Sanyo Chemical Industries SAP has a total production capacity of 420000 tons/year, ranking 6th in global market share. But currently, the total production capacity is 310000 tons, a decrease of about 25%. Sanyo Chemical Industries will dissolve its two production subsidiaries in Japan and Malaysia, and consider selling a company that produces SAP in China to a local chemical manufacturer. Meanwhile, a Chinese subsidiary producing polyurethane materials and surfactants will also be dissolved.   SAP's sales for this fiscal year were approximately 30 billion yen, accounting for 20% of the total sales. The operating loss of various businesses is about 1.8 billion yen, and the operating situation continues to be sluggish.   SAP's global supply has become oversupplied, and the gap with Chinese products in terms of water absorption speed and other functions is also narrowing. Diaper manufacturers typically purchase raw materials from multiple companies, so exiting this business will not have a significant impact on their business partners. Analysis indicates that there has been an increase in demand for baby's diapers in India and other countries, as well as for adult diapers in China and other countries.   Sanyo Chemical Industries stated that the Nagoya factory in Japan, which produces SAP, will produce sufficient inventory before customers switch suppliers and complete operations in the first half of the fiscal year ending in March 2025. The production of SAP factory in Malaysia has ended. Its human resources and funds will be allocated to high value-added areas such as healthcare.   Reference from Nihon Keizai Shimbun

  • "Nature and Innovation" of Lyocell Shortcut Fiber

    2024-04-03

"Nature and Innovation" of Lyocell Shortcut Fiber   The increasing popularity of environmentally friendly hygiene products that can be dispersed and degraded in the global market has prompted both upstream and downstream of the non-woven fabric industry to focus on innovation in dispersible technology. Developing fibers with good dispersibility has become the primary task for upstream raw material suppliers.   As a leading global supplier of sustainable specialty fibers and the first cellulose fiber producer to establish and obtain approval for the Scientific Carbon Target (SBT), with the support of Lanjing's dry cut fiber and Eco Disperse technology, Weiyi Silk™ Lyocell Shortcut fiber better embodies the organic combination of "nature and innovation". Currently, Lanjing's designated factory can also produce carbon neutral Weiyi silk™ Lyocell Shortcut fiber further helps non-woven fabric manufacturers and even upstream and downstream industries meet the requirements of non-woven hygiene products in terms of hygiene, cleanliness, and sustainability.

    Lyocell Shortcut fiber - Dispersibility

    2024-04-02

Lyocell Shortcut fiber - Dispersibility   The Shortcut fiber in Lyocell fiber Weiyi silk™ has a unique advantage in its dispersibility, making it particularly suitable for the manufacturing of dispersible wet toilet paper. Firstly, Weiyi silk ™ Lyocell fiber is a plant cellulose fiber derived from sustainable wood sources, so it is naturally biodegradable. In addition, it also has a high water absorption rate of 60% -70% and a higher tensile strength in the wet state of non-woven fabrics, which can help manufacturers develop products with lightweight or wet processing needs to better meet diversified market demands.   Moreover, with the support of Lanjing Eco Disperse technology, Weiyi Silk™ Lyocell Shortcut fibers exhibit good dispersibility after dispersion, allowing them to quickly and automatically decompose when immersed in water without causing blockages in waterways. During the production process, it is also less prone to fiber entanglement and the appearance of clumps and thorns on the surface of the fabric. This feature not only prevents consumers from being troubled by sewer blockages, but also helps manufacturers ensure the quality of dispersible non-woven sanitary materials and the safe operation of sorting equipment to the maximum extent possible.   From this, it can be seen that Weiyi silk ™ Lyocell Shortcut fiber, with its inherent advantages and innovative technology, balances dispersibility and sustainability. It not only provides a better user experience for non-woven sanitary products, but also provides manufacturers with a "win-win solution" that can meet performance and environmental needs.

    Lyocell Shortcut fiber

    2024-04-01

Lyocell Shortcut fiber   As a leading global supplier of non-woven fibers, Lanjing Group VEOCEL ™ Brand (Chinese trademark name Weiyi Silk) ™, Commonly referred to as Weiyi Silk ™). With years of innovative fiber manufacturing technology and profound insights into the non-woven fabric market, they have provided a "breakthrough" for manufacturers - the subsidiary Weiyi Silk ™ Lyocell Shortcut fibers use Dry Cut technology, which is different from Wet Cut fibers. Dry Cut technology is a technique that involves drying fibers in a wet working environment before completing the cutting process. Due to the significant decrease in humidity, the fiber surface becomes drier, making it less susceptible to microbial, bacterial, and fungal growth.   According to the Lanjing test, non-woven fabric made with a ratio of 80% wood pulp and 20% fiber was used as the culture medium. The fiber portion was cut by wet method and Lanjing's dry method, respectively. The two were subjected to colony control tests in the same culture environment, and the results showed that the latter had significantly fewer colonies than the former.
