New spunlace products

Freudenberg Nonwovens (Germany) launched a new type of spunbond filament micro denier spunlace nonwoven fabrics called Evolon in February 2000, which is produced on a single assembly line that includes spinning, web forming, and spunlace. This proprietary process is its third major technological breakthrough in nonwoven fabrics production (the company claims to have produced the first batch of short fiber non-woven fabrics in 1948 and developed the first spunbond process in 1965). The one-step production process of this fabric is comparable to the multi-step weighing process required for woven and knitted fabrics. This feature, combined with the production process of Evolo nonwoven fabric, includes the process of composite filament from polymer slices, splitting composite fibers (each composite fiber can be split into several smooth microfibers) and simultaneously consolidating (entangled) the fiber mesh through high-pressure spunlace process, ultimately producing nonwoven fabric containing 0.05dtex-2.5dtex microfibers.

It is said that compared to conventional microfibers, the polymer in this process filament has a higher molecular orientation. Evolo spunlace nonwoven fabric can withstand regular water washing and has high tensile strength, tear resistance, and good drape and feel in all directions. It is expected that Evolo non-woven fabric will target a wide range of durable and disposable product markets, especially in the clothing market dominated by traditional textiles, including sportswear, casual wear, and work-wear for adults and children. For example, Evolo spunlace nonwoven fabric with a weight of 70-150 grams per square meter can be used for T-shirts and sportswear.
