Essity's net sales grew 20.2% in the first half of 2023
Essity reported continued high sales growth and higher margins in the first half of the year following its complete exit from the Russian market, while announcing plans to restructure its plant in the US state of New York.
In the first half of the year, the company's net sales rose 20.2% year-on-year to 86,856 billion Swedish krona. Profits rose 139% year on year to 5.254 billion Swedish krona. The consumer goods business saw net sales increase 19.8% to 52,653 million Swedish krona.
In the second quarter, net sales rose 15.8%. In the consumer goods business, net sales increased 14.7% year-on-year to 26.344 billion Swedish krona. Organic sales in the household tissue business increased by 4.8%, mainly due to price increases and an improved product mix.
